Search Engines Love Blogs More Than Webpages

It is true! Search engines really like blogs more than static webpages. How do I find out that? Well, I have started to promote one of the affiliate products with a webpage. Like most of the internet marketing gurus have suggested, you can have a squeeze page as your landing page. Then get people to sign up and let them to the merchant website when they have signed up. I followed exactly what these gurus have advised, yet I do not get any body to visit my website at all. Let alone, buying what I promote. Is this happening to you too?

Then, I heed the advice from this young man, Rob Benwell, and started a blog. I used to struggle for people and even search engine spiders to visit my website. The only traffic coming to my website is from pay per click services. I find that it is not the long term method to drive traffic. I believe that if I can tap on the search engines’ traffic, then it will be perfect. Hence, instead of a static website, I converted my webpage to a blog.

Initially, when I had the webpage, it took the search engine at least a couple of weeks to index my webpage. Even when they have indexed it, it showed up around page 7 or 8 of the search results. That is really disappointing for so much work done and designing of the webpage. But when I changed it entirely to a blog, my blog is being indexed around the third page of the search results for the same search terms. Hence, I find that search engines seem to like blogs more than webpages.

I do not know about you but I find that this incident really prove to me that it is really worth while to setup a blog instead of a website. Just imagine if you know how to optimize your blog… I bet your blog will definitely get indexed on the first page of the search results.
